SwitchBot and Nanoleaf bring compatible devices to Apple HomeView for shared controls and scenes, with hub requirements depending on the product.

Curtains and lights share a home display

The quick read
  • SwitchBot and Nanoleaf announced Apple HomeView controls for compatible devices.
  • Add supported products to Apple Home before accessing them through Apple HomeView.
  • Some SwitchBot accessories require a compatible SwitchBot Matter Hub.

SwitchBot and Nanoleaf today announced an Apple HomeView experience that lets households operate compatible window coverings and lighting from a shared display using touch controls or Siri (opens in a new tab). It also gives users access to saved Apple Home scenes, allowing devices from both brands to participate in one household routine.

After adding supported products to Apple Home, users can operate bedroom curtains with SwitchBot Curtain 3 or adjust office blinds with SwitchBot Blind Tilt through Apple HomeView. Compatible Nanoleaf lighting supports power controls, while supported lights also allow brightness adjustments.

A saved Movie Night scene could combine closing SwitchBot curtains with setting the color and brightness of Nanoleaf lights. SwitchBot and Nanoleaf have also released a guide with compatibility details and instructions for connecting, setting up and operating supported products.

Check how your devices connect

Devices supporting native Matter over Wi-Fi and selected HomeKit-enabled products can connect directly to Apple Home without a separate brand bridge. Other compatible SwitchBot accessories need bridging through a SwitchBot Matter Hub, with Hub 2 and Hub 3 among the options depending on the accessory. Apple HomeView provides remote access and automation functions, but a required SwitchBot Matter Hub remains necessary to connect those accessories.

Lock Vision and Lock Vision Pro use native Matter over Wi-Fi for Apple Home integration, so checking their lock status does not require another SwitchBot bridge. Compatible SwitchBot meters supply temperature and humidity readings, while contact sensors and water leak sensors provide status information for areas including windows and laundry spaces.
