HouseTuned covers the appliances and home tech people live with. We test products at home, report the news and recalls around them, record the prices worth knowing and explain what to check before calling a professional.
What we cover
Hands-on reviews of kitchen, laundry, cleaning, climate and home network gear. News about launches, software updates and recalls. Deal pages that record a price and when we checked it. And guides that begin with what you can observe and check through normal controls or manufacturer-approved user maintenance.
Reviews we can stand behind
A review is written by the person who used the product. It lists the dates we tested it, how the unit reached us and how many of the photographs are our own. How we test explains the rest.
Knowing when to leave it alone
A good household guide also tells you where to stop. One symptom does not establish that a part has failed. Some questions need a qualified trade, the right equipment or access that a reader should not attempt.
When that is the next step, we aim to help you prepare a useful description: model, error message, timing and what changed.
Who signs the work
Reviews are signed by the person who used the product. News and guides carry a named writer or the HouseTuned byline, and deal pages carry the HouseTuned byline. Either way, the publication is responsible for research, source checks, editorial review and corrections.
