Automatic savings features are planned for existing thermostats
- Lennox and Everyday Electric plan automatic temperature adjustments intended to reduce energy bills.
- The companies expect the rollout to begin in 2027.
- Lennox plans to include both existing and new smart thermostat owners.
Lennox and Everyday Electric announced today that they are partnering on smart thermostat features intended to reduce household heating and cooling bills through automatic temperature changes (opens in a new tab). The companies expect to start introducing the integrated features in 2027, with access planned for people who already own Lennox smart thermostats as well as new owners.
For eligible customers, the planned features would make personalized temperature changes during periods of elevated energy prices or demand. The companies say customers will be able to enable those adjustments to pursue bill savings and receive rewards from utilities where those rewards are available.
Lennox says it plans to bring the capabilities to an existing installed base of more than 1 million Lennox smart thermostats in homes. Everyday Electric says over 6 million households already use its energy management tools and savings features.
Households will retain control over temperature changes
The planned controls would let customers change their savings preferences whenever they choose. They would also be able to change the temperature at any time, using either the thermostat itself or the Lennox Home app.
The Lennox Home app is also expected to show insights into savings associated with the smart thermostat. The companies plan to pair those insights with personalized recommendations pointing customers toward additional opportunities to save energy.
