A door lock with a way to restore power by hand
- Ring Smart Lock has a dial that Ring says restores power when the battery dies.
- U.S. sales are scheduled for early 2027.
- Indoor Cam 4K and Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam 2K are available to buy today in the U.S.
Ring has announced Ring Smart Lock, which the company says can regain power after its battery dies by having the owner turn a built-in dial a few times (opens in a new tab). Ring schedules U.S. sales for early 2027, with brass, black and silver finishes planned.
Ring says owners can enter using fingerprints, a backlit touchscreen keypad, its Ring App or Alexa. Alexa functionality requires setting up the compatible lock in the Ring App. The lock accommodates a standard deadbolt of the single-cylinder type, and installation needs no extra wiring.

Ring Smart Lock requires coverage from Amazon Sidewalk, which can vary with location and may change or be interrupted. Owners can manage access, check whether the door is locked and lock it through the Ring App. Some app functions, including digital arming and disarming, require a compatible Ring subscription.
Indoor cameras add privacy shutters and wider coverage
Indoor Cam 4K and Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam 2K go on sale today in the U.S., with preorders available in additional countries. Indoor Cam 4K includes a physical shutter for privacy, a viewing angle of 115 degrees and dual-band wifi 6.
Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam 2K can pan through 360 degrees and tilt through 175 degrees. Ring says it follows motion, using computer vision for motion detection alongside 2K video. Closing its physical privacy shutter turns off both its microphone and camera.

For outdoor coverage, U.S. preorders open today for Outdoor Cam 4K Plus, Floodlight Cam 4K Plus and Spotlight Cam 4K Plus. Outdoor Cam 4K Plus offers configurations powered by PoE, solar, batteries, hardwiring or a plug-in connection. Spotlight Cam 4K Plus includes a spotlight rated at 550 lumens, while Floodlight Cam 4K Plus supports 24/7 Recording with a compatible Ring subscription and restrictions on supported configurations and features.
