Two views for watching the yard

Reolink's OMVI 2i Ultra is available today for $229.99 in the U.S. through Amazon and Reolink.com, combining an 8MP (4K) wide-view camera with a 5MP (3K) pan-tilt camera for watching areas such as yards and driveways (opens in a new tab). The wire-free design includes solar charging, and all features work without subscription charges or monthly payments.
Reolink says the two cameras can watch different directions simultaneously, with SyncTrack Tracking following detected objects through the pan-tilt camera. Reolink says tracking continues when an object leaves the wide-view camera's field of view. The moving camera has 355° of pan movement and 55° of tilt movement.
Owners can tap a location in the wide-angle image to point the pan-tilt camera there. Reolink says an automatic framing function also adjusts the view and zooms in when the camera detects a target.
Charging and storage options
Reolink rates the removable 10,000mAh battery for up to six months per charge, based on five minutes of daily recording with standby throughout the day. The company says the integrated 6W solar panel uses Reolink SolarEase™ technology and can sustain operation with 30 minutes of sunlight each day, including under partial shade and low-light conditions.
For recordings kept locally, the camera supports microSD cards with capacities up to 512GB and the Reolink Home Hub series. Detection runs on the device and distinguishes people, animals and vehicles, while a spotlight responds to motion. Owners also get two-way audio, infrared viewing and color viewing at night, plus compatibility with Google Assistant and Alexa.
