Navien today launched the NCB700, a wall-hung combi-boiler offering 96% AFUE efficiency that handles both household heating and domestic hot water (opens in a new tab). The range includes five models, with heating input reaching up to 150,000 BTU/h and domestic hot water input reaching up to 210,000 BTU/h.

Domestic hot water delivery reaches up to 5.4 gallons per minute when the temperature rise is 70°F. For households requiring more hot water capacity, the NCB700 supports a cascade configuration connecting up to 15 Navien NPE-2 tankless water heaters.

Navien ON technology learns domestic hot water usage patterns and uses them to adjust recirculation and preheat schedules. Navien says this functionality reduces wasted water and improves energy efficiency while making hot water available when needed.

A shorter cabinet and accessible filter

Compared with the NCB-H, the NCB700 cabinet is shorter by two inches, and its domestic hot water module has a lower profile intended to ease service access. Contractors can inspect and clean the external filter for incoming air without opening the cabinet. Revised heat exchanger tubing is intended to improve heat transfer, while changes to the fan and motor target quieter operation and better performance with longer vents, according to Navien.

Pairing the built-in Wi-Fi with the NaviLink app enables monitoring and control remotely, along with wireless updates. An integrated controller accommodates as many as four pumps for heating zones or three zone valves. A backlit display uses plain text, with a click wheel and guided setup and service tools for contractors.
