The lock body is made of zinc alloy with an IP65 rating, so it is built for outdoor exposure. It handles temperatures from -31°F to 151°F, which covers most climates. Four AA batteries are included and the lock can run for up to 8 months, so factor replacement AAs into your routine. A USB-C port on the lock allows emergency charging if the batteries die before you swap them.
Auto-lock uses a built-in gyroscope to lock the door after you close it, or you can disable that feature. Do Not Disturb mode mutes sounds during set hours, which helps if you come home late. Skip this lock if you do not want to manage a Zigbee hub for remote passwords and third-party integrations. The U100 needs an Aqara Zigbee 3.0 hub for those features, and the hub is not included. If you prefer a lock that works entirely through a single app without extra hardware, this is not the right fit.
