A new robot vacuum tier from Shark

SharkNinja has introduced the Shark Navigator 2-in-1 Robot Vacuum and Mop, a robot that vacuums and mops and then empties itself into a bagless base (opens in a new tab). The line starts at $499 MSRP. The version priced at $599, which comes with a 60-day base, is already available, while the $499 model is coming soon, according to the announcement.
Shark claims four times the suction of the Dreame D10 Plus Gen2 and twice the stain-cleaning performance of the Roomba105 Combo. It navigates with 360° LiDAR and a feature Shark calls SmartPath Max Navigation, which the company says cleans methodically, row by row. A self-cleaning brushroll is designed to help prevent hair wrap. In mopping mode the robot also vacuums hard floors, and Shark says it automatically avoids carpets and rugs while mopping.
According to Shark, cleaning starts with a single click once setup is complete. The SharkClean app provides scheduling, map viewing and no-go zone controls. SharkNinja marketing director Alex Forman said an in-home consumer study found that 95% of participants reported Navigator had taken over their maintenance vacuuming during week one.
What it costs and how it fits the lineup
Navigator costs less than the three PowerDetect models in the announcement, whose MSRPs range from $999.99 to $1,299.99.
Several Shark robot models will also be on sale during Amazon Prime Big Deal Days, according to the announcement. SharkNinja is headquartered in Needham, Massachusetts, and trades on the NYSE under SN. Its products are sold at retailers and distributors worldwide.
