What the Orbi 370 three-pack is for

Before bringing it home
  • Up to 6,000 sq ft over three pieces, or 2,000 sq ft per satellite
  • Handles up to 70 devices on one network

This is for the whole-house WiFi problem: rooms where the signal drops, a basement office that keeps buffering, or a backyard where calls cut out. NETGEAR's Orbi 370 Series three-pack is built around a router and two satellites, and together they cover up to 6,000 sq ft.

It supports WiFi 7, with speeds the manufacturer rates up to 5 Gbps, and it's backward compatible with WiFi 6 and WiFi 5 gear. Your older phones, laptops and TVs still connect. It links up to 70 devices at once, so a house full of people, tablets and smart plugs can share one network.

We'd consider it for a large or multi-storey home on a cable or fiber plan up to 2.5 Gbps. If your place is small or an existing single router already reaches every room, we'd skip the extra nodes and save the budget.

Does $299.99 buy enough coverage

At $299.99, this is $23.30 below the typical price of $323.29 over the last 90 days, a saving of about 7%. The three-piece kit is where the value sits if you need every square foot covered; a two-piece setup is cheaper but leaves less margin on a long or thick-walled home.

Setup runs through the Orbi app, and the system works with your existing modem rather than replacing it, so a cable or fiber plan up to 2.5 Gbps needs no provider swap. Check whether your plan outruns that ceiling before buying, since the system is rated to that speed.

One thing to price in: NETGEAR Armor comes as a 30-day trial, and continuing it needs a separate subscription. If you don't want another monthly line, the router still ships with its own security features enabled from the start.

Where to put the router and satellites

Coverage figures assume open space and sensible placement. Walls, floors and building materials all trim the real range, so put the main unit near your modem and space the satellites out rather than bunching them together.

The satellites give you expansion room later: adding an Orbi 370 Series satellite covers up to another 2,000 sq ft, which suits a finished basement or an extension. Buy for the shape of your home, not the biggest number on the box.

If you're unsure how many nodes your layout needs, map the rooms where WiFi actually fails before deciding between the three-pack and a smaller kit.

When this mesh kit is the wrong call

Skip it if you're outside the US, since this model is made for US use only. Skip it too if you're happy with a single router and your dead zones are really a slow-plan problem that coverage won't fix.

Before you buy, confirm your modem supports the plan speed you're paying for and decide whether you'll keep Armor after the trial ends.
