Shark introduced two corded stick vacuums today that each weigh less than 10 pounds and detach for handheld cleaning of stairs, furniture and vehicle interiors (opens in a new tab). Shark® Rocket® Turbo Corded Stick Vacuum is available for $199.99 in Navy, while Shark Detect™ + Reveal Corded Stick Vacuum costs $249.99 in Storm.
Shark lists both vacuums for carpet and hard-floor cleaning, with self-cleaning brushrolls and what it calls unlimited runtime from corded power. The company says Direction Detect adjusts suction as the Shark Detect™ + Reveal changes direction, while Reveal Technology lights debris to improve visibility.
Brushroll care, attachments and storage
The Shark® Rocket® Turbo uses a self-cleaning Turbo brushroll with Anti-Hair Wrap Technology, which Shark says clears hair during cleaning so owners don't need to cut it off the brushroll. Its included attachments are a Pet Multi-Tool and a Crevice Tool, intended for upholstery, furniture and narrow areas.
According to Shark, Direction Detect adjusts suction automatically based on whether the cleaner travels forward or backward. The company says Reveal Technology casts angled blue LED light to show otherwise hard-to-see dust and debris, and that the brushroll helps prevent tangled hair.
The detachable handheld unit on Shark Detect™ + Reveal weighs less than three pounds, and its supplied accessories include a Pet Multi-Tool and Pet Crevice Tool. Both vacuums have low-profile floor nozzles designed to fit underneath furniture. For freestanding storage, each handheld unit attaches near the bottom of its wand, creating a compact arrangement.
