The floor routine this robot takes over
- Biggest savings if you'd otherwise empty a bin and wash pads yourself
- Works on hardwood, tile and low-pile carpet
- Skip if your home is mostly thick, high-pile rugs
This robot covers the daily loop for hard floors and low-pile carpet. It vacuums with 8000Pa of suction and a rubber spiral main brush, then scrubs with two rotating pads at 200 RPM. The 10mm pad lift lets it cross low-pile carpet without dragging a wet mess.
We'd consider it a good match for a home with pets, since the side brush is rated to resist hair tangling and the roller is designed to keep hair from wrapping. Reactive Tech helps it dodge cords, shoes and furniture, and LiDAR mapping covers up to four levels.

Dock space, placement and the running questions
The dock is the real footprint here. It needs floor area, a nearby outlet and room for the 4L clean-water tank, which is rated for 3552 sqft of mopping. Measure that nook before buying. The pad washing and drying happen on the dock, so it also needs clearance to air out.
Running costs come down to dust bags, cleaning solution and the power the dock uses to wash and dry pads. Bags are rated to last 7 to 9 weeks, so price replacements for your household before assuming the day-one cost is the whole story. Check the tank inlet for whether anything besides the official Roborock solution is allowed.
When this dock setup is the wrong fit
We'd skip it if you have wall-to-wall high-pile carpet, since the 10mm mop lift only clears low-pile rugs and you would be paying for scrubbing you cannot use. Skip it too if you cannot give up the floor space the dock occupies, or if your router runs a 5GHz-only network and you are not willing to enable its 2.4GHz band.
The last check is the tightest gap between furniture and doorways along the route it must travel.
